The 25th Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements (CPEM 06) was attended by 473 delegates from 40 different countries and was a great success, despite the high temperatures we had to endure during the meeting.

I want to thank personally INRIM and the University of Torino for the cooperation in organizing all aspects of the event and ensuring that everything would run smoothly.

A special thank goes also to our sponsors, who supported the conference and were instrumental in making it reasonably priced.

Around CPEM 06 there were 17 satellite events, held either at the site of the conference or at INRIM, including a CODATA meeting, five Euromet meetings, eight CIPM working groups and a special workshop of the CCQM working group on the potential applications of spectroscopy to gas analysis.

The next CPEM will be held in Colorado, USA, hosted by NIST from the 8th to 13th of June, 2008.
